Well, we’re already 10 days into August, the last full month of summer, and it’s time for a break. For me, August is the beginning of a new year with yet another birthday approaching this week. I always take this perfect time of year to reflect, refresh, and reevaluate what’s happening in my life.
No, I’m not getting philosophical, just taking a moment to find calm, check my attitude, and think about the year ahead.
So, what do I want to have accomplished before my next trip around the sun? That’s the unanswered question that is going through my head…
…but let’s start the process together with some new music from a new streaming episode I put together via Mixcloud, and then end with a tiny website announcement.
The new episode is a little over 42 minutes long and contains 10 songs—nine brand new and one from a forthcoming reissue, 52 years after its original album release.
I thought about the order of these songs and which ones to exclude earlier today. I omitted a new Osees song, only because it didn’t fit in with this particular set, which, in my opinion, flows pretty well.

Announcement
As many of you know, I operate an online-only, small record and CD shop. Last week, I reorganized the website for Nocturnal Music to include more than just links and information about the store. I updated the homepage to include links to my streaming music shows, Spotify playlists, and this here newsletter/blog.
I am trying to simplify the process, and I hope this makes sense. If you haven’t visited, the web address is nocturnalmusic.net. Take a look and poke around — tell your friends, and as always, I welcome your feedback.
Thanks again for reading — and listening. I truly appreciate it. Until next time! - JB
